Master Koine Greek 101

The God(s) spoke Greek! Koine Greek, also known as Hellenistic and Biblical Greek, was the Greek spoken from south Italy to Afghanistan from the time of Alexander the Great to the first Byzantine emperors. It is the dialect in which the New Testament was composed and into which the Old Testament, or Septuagint, was translated. By learning Koine, you’ll also gain access to writers like Lucian, Plutarch, josephus, plotinus, and many more

I’m Dr. David Litwa. I earned my PhD in Religious Studies in 2013 from the University of Virginia. Armed with a decade of teaching and advising experience (in-person and online), I've helped literally thousands of students online.

In this introductory course, I will teach you how to read Koine Greek as fast and as fluently as possible. At the moment, this is a dripped course--meaning that new lessons will appear every week.
